Taxo Silver Turquoise is a handpulled silver glass by Trautman Art Glass. Sold per 115g (1/4 pound) or per rod. Rods are 3-7mm dia. Compatiable with other 104 coe glasses.

A lovely reducing glass. The rod is transparent turquoise blue. This glass can produce oil slick rainbow colours when reduced over black and a bright metallic sheen, especially when heavily reduced without oxygen. Whispy iridescence occurs from light reduction about one inch above a long yellow flame in the torch, this can be reapeated until the bead shows cloudy white patches and even some terra cotta reduction.  For a metallic look, turn up the propane  until it looks like the flame is lifting off the torch and then trun the oxygen off, wave the bead in the high, hot gas flame until it's super shiny. To avoid the loss of the metallic sheen in your kiln, try adding a piece of activated charcoal to your kiln, this neutralizes an ozidizing atmosphere.
