Description
An experimental version of the new Dalai Lotus, that strikes into more reds, magentas, purples, etc. in addition to the amber-to-purple-to-blue transition. However, Fire Lotus can also shift redder when annealed longer and hotter -- for example, we have seen dramatic shifts with 1050 degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of hours. Like the Dalai Lotus, the Fire Lotus prefers a white-hot treatment in the gather, and hot striking on the mandrel, followed by significant cooling rounds. Responds well to brass tools and other rapid cooling. Encases well, but also keeps color well in the kiln, even if left un-encased.
