Abes Ivy 104 coe silver glass - Sold per 115g or (1/4 pound). Rods are approx. 4-6mm in dia. and are fully 104 coe compatiable. Abes Ivy is a must for everyone to try. A light transparent Aquamarine Blue in colour that offers many hues like metallic blues, copper reds and sea greens. Reduce it and Abes will give you earthy reds and browns. WIth its high silver content it reacts very quickly in the flame. Watch out that you don't over reduce. Try encasing Abes Ivy Diamond Clear. It also works great over White or Ivory. Ideal for stringer application, full beads or canes. Work in a neutral oxidizing flame and to bring out the most vivid colours, wave your bead in the flame to bring out the silver.
Striking Guide for Precision 104 Colours:
Use adequate ventilation when using silver rich colours.
Use a neutral flame (shortest yellow candle) while constructing your bead.
Remove your piece from the flame until the glass loses it glow.
Adjust your flame to slightly reducing (longer yellow candles) by turning propane up or oxygen down.
Reheat your bead until the glass is glowing again.
Remove the bead from the flame and watch the colours develop. To further develop the colours repeat.
To clean off any effects reheat at the tip of an oxygen rich flame.
Abe's Ivy is a soft glass renditon of Abe's borosilicate Ivy color. Rods are fully COE 104 compatible. Minimum purchase is 1/4 lb. This glass can be reduced or struck in the flame for varying effects.
