Description
Sold x 115 grm (1/4 lb) Glass Alchemy Neptune Sparkle borosilicate Glass Rods. Neptune Sparkle, 559 is an aventurine (chrome sparkle) that can be used by itself or as a tint to be used over another color such as white. This color is especially interesting when encasing a rod that will be used in imploded work. By itself it is a dark green (tealish) color. Size: 7mm x 58cm length. Weight per rod approx. 32 grms. 3-4 rods per 115grms or 12 - 15 rods per 458 grms (1lb).
Working Tip:
Work this color in a neutral flame. Garage at 975° F, Anneal at 1050° F.

Neptune Sparkle is a rich and saturated sea green that has a high density of sparkle and color. Works well with or without encasement in clear and holds its color well in stringers. Great for solid sculpture, actually it is one of the better colors for it in my opinion because the surface finish will add to a nice sculptural form with a subtle yet distinct sparkle and shimmer.
Neptune Sparkle can be diluted with clear or Glass Alchemy Paris Green-2 or 6 for a different finish. When blown thin you will see Neptune Sparkle is a milky deep sea green color. When showing work with Neptune Sparkle try to present it in sunlight or bright light to react with the sparkle.
