Sold x 115 grm (1/4 lb) Glass Alchemy Jamboree Borosilicate Glass Rods. Jamboree, 8989 was inspired by the soft glass chalcedony colors. We tried to move from the bright silver strike to more of an organic earth tone strike with all the familiar colors, only in pastel versions. You will have a great time playing with this color and will never be disappointed in the results. You clients will love this one. Size: 7mm x 58cm length. Weight per rod approx. 32 grms. 3-4 rods per 115grms or 12 - 15 rods per 458 grms (1lb).

Working Tip:

Heat to a dull orange and cool multiple times to strike the color. Use a reducing flame from time-to-time to create additional effects.

Jamboree is a color with many results that are achievable through a variation of working time, flame atmosphere and kilning. As a striking color, Jamboree will move through a range of creamy tans to a deep dark purple. The trick lies in the silver in the color that will change the surface each time a spot is heated to near molten state or lightly brushed with a reduction flame.

So far, I have achieved every color that a chalcedony soft glass can produce through a mix of techniques using intense heating and cooling, metal tools and reduction. Extra kiln time at 1030F to 1100F will push more pastel like luster out of the surface if the color is not encased. Jamboree is a very rich color and depending on color thickness, will change your results from piece to piece.
