Sold x 115 grm (1/4 lb) Green Sparkle borosilicate Glass Rods. Green Sparkle, 458 was a bold experiment when it was first introduced that has simply exploded into an important part of the borosilicate palette today. The first aventurine (chrome sparkle) to be introduced by any boro company, this color servers as the anchor for an extensive family of Glass Alchemy Sparkles. Over time, as the market has demanded even more bling in a color, we have responded by making the color more robust and increased the infusion of sparkles. Size: 7mm x 58cm length. Weight per rod approx. 32 grms. 3-4 rods per 115grms or 12 - 15 rods per 458 grms (1lb).
Working Tip:
Work this color in a neutral flame. Garage at 975° F, Anneal at 1050° F.
Artist Description by Mike Shelbo:
This is a smooth, shimmering Green Sparkle that is ionic; when built up thick enough it will seem opaque. The sparkle chunks are smaller than that of Disco Sparkle, but still harness that unique look of metallic fleck paint and shimmering satin liquid hand soap or candy cane texture. I use all of these descriptions because depending on how you use it or what it is backed by, you will get an array of results.
You may like to encase this color in clear to optically enhance the effect, or mix up your rod and redraw out cane to "activate" more sparkle action. Green Sparkle works smooth and creamy in any application. One of the color combinations I like a lot is Triple Passion and Green Sparkle, either side by side or over one another, you can get so many different effects and the transparent sparkle over silver colors is an easy way to branch out into color layering with a beautiful finish.
