Sold x 115 grm (1/4 lb) Glass Alchemy Caramel Luster borosilicate Glass Rods. Caramel Luster, 388 was designed to transmit a beautiful orange-red tone, adding a unique dimension to your work. Size: 7mm x 58cm length. Weight per rod approx. 32 grms. 3-4 rods per 115grms or 12 - 15 rods per 458 grms (1lb).

Get this color white hot to erase the striking history. A variety of effects are achievable depending on how long you flame/kiln strike

Caramel Luster is a great color for surface work and you can combine it with clear to bring out more of the colors trapped inside. A light reduction (more propane in the flame) will yield hints of blue, green and metallic silver. This color can be used in a thin application as a tint or a medium-thick to dense application will give you a more opalescent translucent look to the glass. A whole range of caramels from light golden to deeper transparent brown can be achieved through a combination of flame settings and kiln times.
